Artist's Description

My mother Josephine took this photo in the backyard of our home on Strawberry Hill, a Croatian-American neighborhood. Dad found this scooter in the city dump, took it home, sanded it off and painted it for me. We were too poor for a new one.
Notice the outhouse and old car in the background
